Yes, something we know about. Caused a clicking sound in some drives. |

Many thanks Matt! I'll let 'The Water Shed', your dealer in Auckland, know |

Kind of feel like I am quality control duty lately with my 2016 Pro Angler 14...with a stuck skeg, squeaky seat and clicking mirage drive. Matt - was this issue resolved before the 2016 model year? I am definitely hearing a pronounced clicking coming from my Mirage Drive when peddling. Have heard if from the my very first week on the water. Almost like a metronome...speeds up and slows down depending on my cadence. Wondering if I might be experiencing the same issue. Is there a fix or part replacement recommended? I did not see a response other than 'Hobie is aware' of the issue. |

I am not sure of the timing, but seems it was noted this last year. As I understand it, it was one of several tools that had an issue, so very random. You should be able to feel it if you rotate the sprocket by hand on the shaft. |

I could not see the bump on the sprocket...grease is in the way of clear visibility. But when I was straightening a shaft last night, I played around trying to figure out if this was the issue. The sound is definitely coming from the rear sprocket on the drive. Thinking that this may be the problem part, but really don't want to tear the drive down unless I am having to replace a chain or something else. Thinking I will just live with it. I already have a set of spare sprockets (and just about everything else), and after inspecting the spares, they look good...so if/when i have to replace something substantial, I will replace that back sprocket, and my guess is the clicking will go away. |
