Post subject:  TI seat back adjustment

I have a 2014 TI. When dry.....the seat rake can be adjusted and maintains a comfortable position using the stock Hobie buckles and webbing, but once in the water and the webbing gets wet - leaning against the seat back, the webbing slides through the buckles and the seat back reclines until it hits boat. The webbing / buckle combo will not 'hold' regardless of how I try to thread the buckles.

I've tried plastic cam buckles, but they don't hold under pressure. My next step is to install stainless steel cam buckles, like the type used to tie down the boat, to stop the webbing from slipping under pressure.

Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a solution ?

I can thread the free end of the webbing back into the Hobie buckle, but that destroys the adjustability.

thanx,
bill

A common problem that goes way back. Many added tri glide buckles to stop the slipping but they make it harder to adjust. Others have added Velcro.
I find the Sea to Summit field replace buckles hold better but I’m using an aftermarket seat

When I get the seat in the perfect spot, I knot each side strap against it's plastic buckle to stop it slipping as you found.
