It would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm also curious why the PA has an in-line BOA for the rudder system, but the Island series doesn't?

When I got my 2015 AI 2 and my new 2014 TI, I pulled the foam blocks out and discarded them. I need that space on camping trips.

To each his own. I do a lot of standing in my kayak and will be taking it in the ocean in pursuit of toothy critters. Support and emergency flotation are premium. Already have enough in-hull stowage.

Now about that diagram...

You do have to be careful with any foam blocks you add to the interior, that they do NOT get tangled up in the rudder lines.

Yes. This is why I'm asking the manufacturer for the layout.

I don't have a diagram unfortunately. I'll ask Jacques to respond if he knows. These are primarily for safety flotation, so may vary in location for most models.

The boa is not strong enough for the rudder loads in the Islands.

They are not placed in the hulls for support as we do in models for standing (like PA's or Outback) They just stuff inside the hull where they can fit. Yes - sometimes there's interference with steering, it's something that the assembly guys know to be aware of, but they can also shift around in shipping, during use or trailering.

Boa isn't suitable due to the hi loads of the steering system (I think Matt replied with the same answer)

I stand and fish and will likely straddle the mirage well where it's flat. Do you recommend this area be supported underneath?

Thanks.

Check out the thread "SPEED" where foam pillars (pool noodles) are used to support the hull. https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic. ... 04#p296962
