can someone (Matt?) help with the proper part number for the circled bolt that holds the aka brace assembly on? Doesn't seem to be metal on mine, one is broken and I'd like to replace it and get some spares. is it the 8040401? I see it in the picture, but there is no description or price at the back of the catalog (Aug 2018) ![]() |

That's the shear-bolt. It is meant to break when over-stressed so other parts don't. You should have received 2 spares with your boat. |

As Bob said, those are "shear pins" and meant to break when stressed. There is nothing special about these shear pins. They can be replaced by plastic bolts purchased at Ace Hardware. Here is a picture of one I have used. You can cut it where the threads start if you wish. ![]() Keith |

BTW, I recommend you drill out the hole in each bolt, to fit a small zip-tie. This is MUCH easier to use than juggling your wet fingers with a nut to secure the new bolt. ![]() |
