Heard from one dealer about a recall/ defect on the Kickup (fwd/rev) drives.

Cleared/ modified drives are supposedly marked with a ‘red dot’ or ‘A’ inside the kickup receiver well.

Anyone else hear of this?
True? False?

Dealer here in Guam is NOT user friendly.....after 6 weeks of pestering about missing parts she FINALLY acknowledged they owe me those parts. (Had to go into the shop at least 10 times, send pictures of owners manual, call, email...she finally said she contacted Hobie...SMH).
So...does anyone have a direct line to Hobie?

Thanks in advance...would LOVE to be able to utilize my boat.....still waiting for it to be fixed, again.

Your distributor would be in Australia.

https://www.hobie.com/au/en/

Very early MD180 Kick Up drives had suspect molded parts. We initiated a full recall/replacement program early last fall. When was your boat built?

The dealer can get the needed parts from Australia.

NOW there is ANOTHER issue.....
I received the boat in the boxes and shrink wrap.
Boxes were marker 2018 with sharpie. Bill of sale says 2020. Last number on the VID is ‘8’.
Another dealer said GOOD drives were marked with a ‘red dot’ or ‘A’.

The last to digits of the serial number are the year, so if it ends in 18 the you have a 2018 hull. My kickup fins had an "A" embossed where the fins click up.

Neither one of my drives have an “A” or red dot.
Mike now what?
Hobie AUS does not have WhatsApp, and have NOT answered any of my emails.

Besides the labeling of the fin saying “turbo kick up”?
And the fact the fin ‘breaks’ to the rear.
