Crack repair in padeye insert area.

I've been getting more water in the yellow boat than my partner is getting in the red one, and I'm curious if this could be the culprit.

The padeye spot for the front cargo hatch is cracked as shown here, any recommendations for repair? Im familiar with polyethylene welding, but I'm not sure i will be able to do it and maintain the threads. If I fill the crack with epoxy, then I'm just committed to never changing the bungies, which im not sure is a good idea. Any ideas?

I'm thinking a temporary fix is just replacing the bungies and then throwing some hot glue in the gap. That should do an adequate job u til a better solution comes to mind.

Small PVC cap filled with epoxy. On the inside of the hull... rough up the plastic on the protruding shape. Tape the inside of the cup. Put the cap over the protruding cup shape inside the hull. Tape to hold.

That should work.

That won't epoxy the black padeye in place? Or ooze out into the threads? Or do you mean to use the tape on the "outside" of the crack (inside the boat) and then just use the epoxy to seal the padeye socket from the rest of the boat?

Tape inside this recess. That would block epoxy from getting into the cup... You should only get epoxy on surfaces inside the hull.

All right, sounds like a plan.
