On our Mirage Tandem Island the cables that run back to the block are twisted tight. Is the block suppose to be attached to the haul of the kayak or hanging free? Ours is hanging free on both sides. If I untwist the cord to make the steering and rudder work and then let go it twists all back up again.

If it is suppose to be attached, where?

Thank you, KC

The blocks need to hang inside the hull. The twist gets started by letting the lines snap into the hull when released. I am told that if you pull the lines out, cleat, and then spin the line to unwind it, it helps. Should be forward near the front hatch I think. Maybe use your phone camera on video to peek inside to see what is happening.
