New owner of a 2015 Tandem Island trying to resolve some furling issues with the sail.

Can anyone tell me if the mast cap is supposed to be loose & rotate?

When I pulled out the cap I noticed some glue type residue inside, so I' m not sure if the cap should rotate with the sail or if I should be gluing it back?

I would think not. The mast could then just spin when you try to furl... only held at the base by the downhaul.

Thanks Matt, that would explain the twisting of the sail at the top when furling.
I'll re-glue the cap & hopefully that should resolve the issue.
