There is a small bungie attached to and in front of the middle hatch. This is not the bungee with hook for securing the fins in the retracted position. I read somewhere that it is intended to keep the forward/reverse cables within reach, but as the photo shows, the cables aren't long enough to reliably be held there. Photo link

So even someone working at Hobie doesn't know what the purpose of this line is? That makes me feel a lot better! If you get a chance to ask one of the engineers or designers, I'm still curious! Thanks! |

It is for holding the pull levers... odd that on this model that it does not reach it. What model and year is this? |

Given that the furling and unfurling lines on this kayak are also too short, maybe it was the runt of the litter? Or put in a dryer and shrunk?

I have the same length bungee loop on my 2019 AI. Never knew what it was for until now. Shouldn't be must trouble to replace it with a slightly longer one. |
