I bought a new AI (adventure island) at dec-2021, this AI was made at Jan-2021, there are 3 parts have been damaged after I use: 1) the rubber rope which to hang AMA to AKA pop out from AMA, I believe I need to find a new part for replacement, where can I find this part and how to replace it? 2) the two cam cleats set damaged(one for roll up the sail and another one is to open the sail) , where can I find these two set of cam cleats? 3) the clip which to hold the seat has been broken, where can I find the new part? Can anyone help me? Thank you very much! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

1. The rubber ropes you refer to are called bungee cords. The plastic fitting that they are mounted with can be unscrewed to access the ends under the deck. There is a special pin tool for this, or you can use some needle nose pliers turned with a pair of channel lock pliers. Once you have those out, you insert the new bungee through the holes and tie knots on the underside. Bungee cord is readily available online. I don't know the diameter or strength needed, but I think you can find it by searching in this forum. 2. The cam cleats are also source able online. You will need to get the measurements for comparison. I don't know the model number. 3. The seat retention plastic bayonet buckles are also easily sourced online. Once you've obtained the right size, just unscrew the screws holding the webbing, replace the buckles and screw the webbing back in. |

Thank you RickO very much! 1) I found the bungee cord with different color online by the correct name which you gave to me, thanks! Next step will try to unscrew the plastic fitting, I tried but its hard, I need to find some tool to do it. 2) I am searching all around the Cam Cleats, I am unable to find the right dimension Cam Cleats online. The Hobie Adventure Island Cam Cleats dimension between two screws is around 26.6mm, but online there is no such dimension Cam Cleats, this is my headache ![]() 3) For the seat retention plastic bayonet buckles, I still keep trying to find it online. For this one, not critical, its better to have, but if really cannot find it, my Kayak can still work ![]() Once again, thank you RickO! |

Hopefully Matt from Hobie will jump in here and give you the part number for the cam cleats. Here are some from Hobie website: https://www.hobie.com/parts-and-accesso ... am%20cleat Not sure if any of these are correct for your boat. Once you have the part number, you can search for it online or order from a Hobie dealer. Not sure about the size, but this is an example of what you need for the buckle: https://smile.amazon.com/Release-Buckle ... 09NN9GQ4T/ There are a zillion of these on Amazon. For the bungee retainers, something like this https://smile.amazon.com/SEEKQUA-Intern ... 09C83BC4J/ or this https://smile.amazon.com/WISEPRO-Intern ... 07YS1N3JB/ should work. You may want to spray some silicone lubricant around the threads and let it sit for a day. Don't use any petroleum based lubricants though. |

Correct. We do not sell to consumers from our factory, so a dealer would be your source. https://www.hobie.com/support/mirage-adventure-island/ https://media.hobie.com/digital_assets/Hobie_Kayak-Eclipse_August_2020_Parts_Guides.pdf Dealers: https://www.hobie.com/dealers/ |

I may come up on Amazon and eBay and will also come up with a number of dealers with websites from which you can order. I have used http://delawarepaddlesports.com before and they are very good and helpful. |

So you are Director of Warranty and Technical Support, I have something feedback to you, to see whether you can help me on this case: 1) 2 months back, one side AMA bungee cord popped out from the AMA, since I am seldom to use two AMA together, and the bungee cord pop out is not a big deal, its not really necessary to claim the warranty, so I just leave it as is, and hope I can put it back later when I have time and find the good way to put it back. 2) Same as the seat clip, some how it was broken 1 month back, but its not a big deal, its too small part to claim the warranty 3) 3 weeks ago, when I drive my Kayak through a water channel, due to strong wind, it was drift to an old cement which over the water, scratched by this cement, the fairlead was gone, but I still can use my kayak for fishing. Until last week, the weather getting warm, I want to use sail to go to deep water of ocean, I need everything fixed, so this time I claim warranty 4) But my friend told me if I claim warranty, its will take quite long time, need couple weeks easily, or even need months. I think these damage parts are all small parts, the cost is only $100-$200, whether I pay for it, or claim warranty, its not a big deal, I just want quick fix, don't want to wait long time, so I am searching these parts on-line, hope can buy it immediately, that's why I post the help notice here for help. Meanwhile, I contacted my dealer who is couple hundred mile away from my house, to claim warranty in case I am unable to find the right parts 5) As you knew, its not easy to find the right size parts from online, so I have to wait the Hobie OEM parts 6) But Hobie officer (Diana Ortega Caballero, [email protected]) rejected my dealer warranty claim, the reason for rejection is that from the Cam Cleats picture, looks like has an accident, I explain what happened, I will take responsibility for the Fairlead parts, but for other parts, they are really nothing to do with the scratching accident, like the seat clip, it behind the seat under my body, it doesn't make sense the clip damaged but the seat and hull and my body are good. Mt. Matt Miller, can you please help to look into this case, approve the warranty claim except the fairlead? Best Regards Xia Huang My Adventure Island was make at 2021, I bought at Dec/2021, and the serial number is: US-HCCJ1864A121 The Hobie ExpressID is 6509479 ![]() ![]() |
