I read a post in a Facebook group concerning breakage of an aka arm from the metal casting (which itself is attached to the hinge/knuckle that inserts into the crossbar). The suggestion was that loose rivets had allowed the arm to move about in the casting and the solution was to drill out the rivets, epoxy the aka arm into the casting and then fix new rivets. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this, or if it has already been discussed in another post on this forum? |

I noticed some rattling a few months ago, and upon inspection several rivets were indeed loose, the round holes having become ovals. I removed all of the loose rivets, drilled the hole up one size, and installed rivets one size larger than the original. Everything has been snug and secure since. |
