![]() The short term fix has been to cut a narrow 6" piece of plastic from a motor oil container and duct tape it over the abraded area. The duct tape gets chewed up but I'm not about to run out of it any time soon. Is there a suitable long-term fix for this problem? I've been sailing the AI since Memorial Day. It's an incredible boat and I want to keep it in good condition for a long time. baysailor Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay Launch at the 301 Bridge - Dahlgren, VA |

I carry a couple of 18 x 24" carpet samples to rest the bow (or stern) on. You can get them at most carpet showrooms for about $1 or less and they make a great, scratch free cushion anytime you have to set the boat down on an unfriendly surface. If using one at the water's edge, you can stuff it in the cargo bay and take it with you. ![]() |
