Hi all: I finished installing a hoisting system in my garage - one strong enough to lift the PA. ![]() More pics here: http://s272.photobucket.com/albums/jj18 ... %20System/ Works pretty well. Only issue is that the front strap wants to slide slide forwards due to the taper of the hull. I'll have to figure something out for that. Maybe some grippy material on the straps. Bob |

Did you buy a system or did you DIY? Looks good. I am looking for a similar thing for my TI; however I would like it to do a 45degree turn 1/2 way up so it will go into place nicely. |

I purchased a complete system. I looked into putting a system together myself, but the kit is nicer. The main block assy has a locking mechenism for the rope so you can pull it in 1-2 foot intervals and it lock at the end of each pull. Much safer. Bob |

Bob - I purchased a similar system as well, and I use swim noodles to stop the straps from sliding. Hoist System: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=13513&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=10102&subdeptNum=10172&classNum=10173 |

Yep. That's the one. I got the 6:1 (145 lb. Cap.) system. I thought about pool noodles. I have some pipe insulation tubing that I will try. Bob |

The one thing I would change is the straps that hold the yak... Need to get wider straps. It might even help with the sliding problem. Good Luck |

Cool! I did not realize West Marine has them, did the store have the hoist in stock or it had to be ordered? Hey Bob, your garage looks remarkably uncluttered, what is the secret? |

I ordered mine earlier this year online. If I recall right, you can have your items shipped to your local store and save on any shipping charges. |
