This may sound funny but im thinking about getting some bedliner spray or something like it to put on the bottom of my hull for protection from draging and oyster bars.Whats your thoughts????? Im not doing the whole bottom just were it would rub . |

It will add A LOT of drag to your boat. I wouldn't do it. |

If you're hell bent on doing it, you might consider just adding such a thing to the lowest points on the hull bottom. Those are the areas that are most likely to rub. So maybe a strip down each "pontoon" and one down the centerline. |

I think the oyster bars will shave off any coating you apply. A better bet might be some sort of tape strip on the keel/low points. Easy to apply/replace, less expensive and should last longer. You might try some plastic or aluminum tape for starters. If you find something that works let us know!

I use your suggestion re carpet or a welcome mat to rest the butt end of my yaks on versus bare concrete/asphalt when loading or unloading off my tailgate or trailer. However, I don't want to haul the pad down to the water, so our yaks meet the pavement often getting in or out of the water before getting on off a cart. If anyone has used tape for this, what tape do they use. I think that I have some Gorilla Tape around, and might put it on critical keel/low points.
