Took my PA out on it's maiden voyage today. Had to go before the weather took a turn for the worst (snow and wind). Of course I brought a couple of rods just to see if anything was biting...nadda thing. I still stayed on the water for a while 3 hours with my rods in the tubes Peddling around Rudee Inlet in VA Beach. I love this freaking boat...i mean kayak...i mean boat...
I am glad I took the boat on the water before I make any additions. Thanks to whomever gave me that advice. Here are a few things I noticed.
1. I can paddle this boat pretty well. Angles are different but very doable.
2. Boat rudder is very sensitive.
3. I had to practice the different settings for the mirage drive to get the most comfortable position. Being short legged, I am dabbling between 3 and 4.
4. I WAS ABLE TO STAND W/O ANY ISSUES!!! An H-bar would have made it a million times easier but it was good to know that I don't need it
5. I can do a powerslide.....peddle fast, turn hard right or left...and put your fins up against the hull. Silly but fun.
6. I was super dry the entire time.
Next to do....
1. Anchor Trolley
2. Fish Finder
3. Maybe H bar.
This koat...bayak had me smiling all day. Now the only problem is, spring can't get here fast enough.
