Went fishing today and after I came in I noticed the rod came out of the bottom. It's not through the actual bottom just through the rubber on the side so a little bit of rod is showing. Can I get that fixed? |

Yep. Pull on the the rubber hard and it will more then likely pop back in. If not pull the split ring off at the top and pull the pin out. This will allow the rubber fin to drop easily and the rod will pop back in the rubber. Then just put the pin back in and the split ring back. I also put a dap of E-6000 in the hole to seal it shut. |

I did the same thing to both of my fins and was able remove the pins and slip the masts back in through the holes as describe in the previous response. I actually bent the masts and eventually took the time to remove and straighten them. I put the masts back with the same fins and haven't had an issue for nearly two seasons. I didn't do anything to seal the punctures and they have not been a problem. The holes are hardly noticable. |

I took one more step after getting the rod back into the rubber sleave. I took Gorilla Tape and placed a few strips over the hole area. This tape holds very well in fresh water conditions and is strong enough to reinforce the hole. My experience was that the rod would slip out of the hole again with just a little bump or rub on the sand below. It was only my second time out. I didn't think to see if the fins needed tightning. The fin that went through was alot lower om the rod,so I lowered the fin more and put it back in with no problem. So next time i will keep an eye on my fins to see if they need tightning. I wish I was kinda told some things to watch out for. Well it's fixed so no worries. |
