Finally got around to installing my H-bar. Looking forward to using it soon. Doing some bass fishing at the end of the month.

Looks great.

I mounted mine using the existing hole for the side board at the front. This put the H bar as far forward as I could make it and have room at the other end of the side board for my fish finder to mount.

Nice seat too. What can you tell about it?

Yeah. I remembered an earlier post on this and thought about using that front mounting board bolt for the H-bar, but it seemed like a real PIA to get that screw bolt out. Don't you have to take out the rod storage tube assy to get to the nut for that bolt? Anyway, I'm OK with where my H-Bar came out.

I got the seat from Pro Bass, It's mounted on a swivel mount. Haven't tried it out yet. I'll let you know how it goes.

PITA doesn't begin to describe it. ha!!

Since I was installing the Mad Frog side boards, I had to get at those nuts anyways, so....

That seat sure looks like you get a lot more side space there. Do you like the swivel? I put one on the stock seat but since it's tilted back, when you pivot, it tips you sideways. I would imagine a narrower seat, no tilt and the swivel would be pretty sweet.

Awesome. I wanted to get one but was wondering if it would work with the mad frogs sideboards! Thanks

Great job with the H-bar install TroutNoDoubt.

SkiPro3 I'm really liking those Mad Frog side boards. Have you had a chance to use them much?

Where the side boards hard to install? Was it hard getting to all the lock nuts on the back side. Thanks, Eric

I have a question about the pool noodle. (haven't received my PA yet...). Is it just to prevent lures and flies from falling under the seat, under your legs??

Nice choice of pink, by the way! :P

Re: the pool noodle: I fly fish and the extra fly line tends to get caught on the hand bolts that secure the seat. This is a bigger problem now that I have moved my seat back one inch. So the pool noodle stops that problem. I also sometimes use it as a "drying patch" for my wet flies.

Actually, I have mentioned on this forum before, The PA is NOT optimized for fly fishing. There are lots and lots of places for the fly line to get hung up. Also, you should never let your fly line slip into the Mirage drive well. The drive cut a $60 intermediate fly line that slipped into the well. That's a mistake you make only once...

I have an old stripping apron from a pontoon boat that I keep thinking about trying it out (to help with line control).

Tight lines.

Bob

PS: The noodle is NOT pink! ;-) It's actually a bright red/orange. Figure I can use it as a distress signal or to wave off wayward boaters in a pinch!

Raaaaaaaiiiiiiiigghhtttttt!!
Whatever you say.

Thanks for the logical explanation of the pink pool noodle placement. Do you have a pink outfit to go with it?
