Just wondered if anyone has done this. I fish at night and haven't felt comfy standing but I bet if I had some courtesy lights for the cockpit of the PA it may be more doable. I was thinking a strip of LED lights under the mounting board on each side would be sufficient. Thoughts... |

Many guys have done this. Some use the Wildcat lighting system with the amber bug lights for the cockpit. A friend of mine installed Westmarine deck lights under the mounting boards. |

I love it. Keep the examples coming. This will be an easy project but make a big difference at night. ![]() |

I got a couple of these coming from eBay; http://www.ebay.com/itm/140661326460?ss ... 1439.l2649 For less than a buck fifty each, it's worth the time to give them a try. I'll probably superglue them to the side boards underneath. I got yellow as 'bug' lights. |

I would use bolts on the side boards instead of drilling holes in the yak. That just me. Fewer holes less ways to get water into the hull of the yak. |

I have a white led strip under each sideboard. Comes in real handy when night fishing. |

Finally got around to wiring up some water proof LED strips I had picked up at the autoparts store a while back to light up the deck of my PA when i'm out night fishing. I havent mounted the switch yet, but i am more than happy with the results. ![]() ![]() the light strips, the wiring you see there is for my fishfinder. ![]() ![]() |
