I just received my pro angler and after inspecting it I noticed the scupper tubes in the rear don't even line up, the mesh net keeper on the side of the seat looks twisted from when they tightened the screws, and the hull looks deformed but I'm not sure if it's normal. The scupper tubes not lining up has me worried the most. I can fix the mesh net myself. At nearly $3,000 I expected a lot more. What do I do? |

The tubes in the scupper holes are simply reinforcements. They don't need to line up exactly. If you'll feel around on the inside of the hull, you'll find the scuppers are smooth and aligned. On the inside, that is. |

How did you receive it? I walked down mine with the dealer. He even handed me the box cutter to remove the packing just so I would be able to put the first damage to it and not be able to blame them probably. Ha! Just like buying a new car; ran my hand over it, checked for all the parts, fit, finish. If you are speaking about the black inserts, they are not absolutely perfect. They are molded into place and that's o.k. I would think. Post up a photo and show what you speak of. |

I ordered it online. I will work on the pictures when I get home. It is the black tubes inside to scuppers that do not line up on the top where it meets the deck so a lip is created. I guess I am being picky but it's an expensive boat and I expected good quality control. |

Scuppers are a very tricky thing to do perfectly. As molds are used, the pins that meet in the middle that form the scupper can get tweaked a little. There is no way to tell if they are lining up until a boat is made and they are examined. There is a certain amount that we allow them to drift off centered before the mold is pulled from production to be corrected. Even correcting them will rarely put the pins 100% centered. As Tom said, inside will much smoothere and plenty strong, especially with the black scupper reinforcements. The twisted mesh is probably just a sloppy oversight that no one noticed. Purchasing your kayak online requires that it ship twice and more than double the chances of shipping damage. We try to have dealers within a reasonable distance of most people, but its not always possible. Dents can be removed though with hot water and air pressure. Many will come out with just sitting in the sun or hot water. Hope this helps! |
