I've seen fishfinders mounted into the PA mast hole, but cannot seem to find exactly what mount is used. I have a Humminbird PMax 170. A further complication is that my Hobie dealer is a three-hour drive away, so I need to order online. That's why I need an exact model number for the mount, please. |

You'll want the tube wedge mount. 72023016 for the 1" RAM ball and 72023015 for the 1.5". It goes in the hole, expands and will hold well. |

To mount something in the mast receiver - you need the ram wedge mount 1" (part # 72023016) Then you need the mount 72023007 (which also comes with a 1" space saver rail mount ball - so you'll have an extra ball left over) Not sure that you'll like your screen that far away as a 170 only has a 4" screen, I think most people would recommend that you just mount it on the side rail closer to you so that it's easier to reach. |

Thanks, both. I'm vacillating about the distance versus wire routing to reach the side rails. There isn't much to do to a 170 after you turn it on, so there shouldn't be much need to change settings. Besides, I can see my toes just fine - but my arms are too short to read close up, LOL! |

I mounted a unit there and like it. I used 3/4 inch pvc, shimmed to fit, and topped that with a 45 angle joint and additional pipe to put the unit closer to me. It's not in the way and I can easily reach it to access the menu and other features. |
