We sure hope so! I am sure someone will come up with a solution once the seats are available for purchase from the Parts department. This was one of the 1st things we looked at and while it appears to be doable from our perspective the engineers will have to figure it out. Also how much would you pay for a "conversion kit" |

It really should not be about how much the consumer is willing to pay. But I am guessing the majority would pay a chunk for the extra comfort. |

I saw a video on the seat and I don't think it is interchangeable. It has a well that the back foot rest sits in as well as a pull release (like the rudder) to let the seat lower. Also the front on the seat locks into two recievers which I suspect are reinforced from underneath. I'm also waiting to see if the seat height makes it more top heavy and prone to flipping. |

I like it, but not THAT much. not willing to get raped for it. plus i kinda already have an idea how to retrofit it...just need to get my hands on one or at least give it a good gander to even see if idea can be a reality. |

I think the point the Hobie engineer was making was that it will require some expense to kit the seat so that it will fit the PA14, and thus in addition with the cost of the seat itself it may prove too expensive for most and therefore not financially viable for Hobie to do it. Unless of course, a large host of guys all say they'd go $300 - $400 or whatever. |

There are a lot of us that spent the extra on the slider pedestal that we put under our current PA14 seats. I wonder if the same folks that raved about the sliding pedestal would really give up that setup and money shelled out to spend more on the Vantage seat and/or modifying it to fit. While I do like what I see in the new seat, I'm not likely to entertain additional expenses and work to get one to work on my PA14. Now if I buy a different Hobie or need another Pro Angler down the road...that might be a different story. If the Vantage seat works out well, I could see Hobie maybe updating the PA14 in the future to have the new seat, but that would take a mold change. |

The question was asked not from the point of greed but from the curiosity perspective. Hobie will set the pricing based I'd assume on a calculation they use across the board. Has nothing to do with what people are willing to pay, it is what it is! As far as being greedy, I'd like to think we (Hobie dealers) are the least greedy people in retail, we all do it because we LOVE it, simple as that. |

I see the seat having problems with the arm rest getting in the way of fishing and paddling. Or did I miss something like they fold out of the way? |

I was thinking the same thing. It appears that maybe they were added simply to have a place to hang the seat bottom and seat back adjustment collars. But this is all speculation until a person has actually had a chance to try one. Hobie typcially gets a lot more right, than they get wrong. |
