I bought a PA 12 day before yesterday and will pick it up tomorrow. I've been working on my utility trailer today building cross beams to carry the kayak. After reading a few topics on here, Im wondering if Im going to be doing the kayak harm. Should I put it on the trailer upside down or rightside up? What Ive done is bolted 2 2x4's down across the trailer with the wider side of the 2x4 making contact with the kayak. I did reinforce this with another 2x4 screwed to the cross sections in a vertical position. I then covered the cross boards with carpet. Another thing, Am I really supposed to store this thing on the hand rails? |

From my research for my PA14, I've found that...unless you have the Hobie Cradles, the best method is having two 2 or 4 inch PVC pipes bolted to a trailer. The pipes should be arranged to run along the scupper holes along the bottom of the PA. I would assume the same would be for the PA12. Check out Tom Kirkman's video on youtube. I believe his handle on youtube is tomkirkman1. |
