I had been planning this mod ever since I pre-ordered my PA12. I got the idea from Scott Lovig's setup. Youtube search "pimp my pro angler". I modified the design to work with a 12 and honestly I believe setup this way it is easier than reaching behind you as in the 14 version. Just wanted to share with everyone. If anyone is interested I can share a parts/cost list. Enjoy! ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr ![]() Untitled by jaymkania, on Flickr |

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I have been contemplating that setup for my PA14 and even communicated with the gentleman on the Australia Kayak forum that also setup a similar configuration on his PA14 based on Scott Loving's Youtube video. I did find a company in British Columbia that sells the Victory hand pump. Is that the brand you have? If you don't mind sending me a PM with the parts list, cost and where you got the parts from (don't need the cooler)...that would be great! |

Great set up. I think I am going to incorporate that pump to my livewell set up. Thanks! |

Awesome setup. I would also like to know where to buy the manual pump from. |

I made a video with some updates to the mods. The pump is a whale gusher urchin. I got a price match online from west marine for about $50. The new void is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNwecNTyupk&feature=youtube_gdata_player |

Thanks, went out the other night and had a chance to test everything. The cooler filled up in ~50 pumps, it was really easier than I thought. I will get some video of it in action next time I'm out. tw1nny03, I just searched google and went to the shopping tab. Not sure if this is the one I used but here is an example: http://www.boatstoreusa.com/plumbing-accessories/bilge-circulation-pump-switches/whale-bp9005-urchin-fixed-handle-1-or-1/ |

That is awesome man - I would consider doing something like that when I get my PA12 next spring - nicely done!! My only modification would be to install the corner covers inside the cooler to prevent the bait from self-mortality by ramming its head. I know that is an issue that many have commented on before with the Hobie Livewell and certain baitfish. |

Thanks Hanover_Yakker. Yeah I went back and forth on whether to spend extra time rounding the inside of the tank because of schooling baitfish, etc. I thought of a couple possible solutions but in the end it would have been a pain to always have to take them out to still use the cooler as an ice box, etc. The baits I typically use are hearty enough to survive for the 6-8 hrs at a time that I need them to. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! |
