So I am trying to decide which route to take... Option 1: ![]() Option 2: ![]() Option 3: ![]() Option 4: ![]() Right now I am favoring the cooler options because it will lends its self better to keeping fish alive in our Texas heat. Also I can use it as a cooler if I am not using bait. After dinner I will post what I have so far about what each of these setups my end up costing. Thanks in advance for any of your feedback! |

I will focus on the two cooler options I have listed since I am leaning that way for now. For both options I would probably go with this cooler ![]() It is a good size cooler for the back area of my PA and should strap in with out any modifications. Plus it is only $40 Then the next decision is automatic or manual For the manual option I am looking at about $80 for the pump and maybe another $20 in hardware ![]() Or for Automatic I have found 2 options that will both run off a 6v battery($15) dry box($20) Kit 1($30) ![]() Kit 2 ($40) ![]() |

So Manual Cooler setup will run about $140 Auto Cooler 1 will run $105 Auto Cooler 2 will run $115 I already own a couple of batter chargers so I won't include that expense but it is a PITA to worry about whether or not the battery is charged. Hmmmmmm Help me out guys!!! |

Go with option 3 with the esky and hand pump. Very surprised at the price of your hand pump but. You should be able to get one of those for a lot less. Even here in Oz we can pick up for 30 bucks |

The whale pump is awesome, but you wont find it for less than $70 as far as I searched. I did the kibble vault tank with the whale pump, and it works great. The nice thing about it is its secondary use in the PA - make the intake tube long enough, and you can pull it from the scupper hole and drop it into the tackle storage deck hatch and pump out the hull in an emergency... ![]() |

I went with the bilge pump route. I have a 2012 PA14 and needed to cut 2 of the screw holes off and mount it on a piece of starboard so it'll fit. I put the cam lock in place to drain the tank and to pump out the kayak if I ever needed to. The drain for the tank rotates up or down to raise the water level in the tank. The container came from Petco and is a dog food container. Don't know how to post pictures so here's where you can see it. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/show ... hp?t=18073 |

I just realized you were talking about a bilge pump for a totally different purpose! But, I'll leave this post on in case someone's looking for a fast, cheap way to get water out of their boat. We bought a battery operated bilge pump. Looks just like the cheap hand pumps you can buy anywhere. And it was only about $20! The thing takes 2, D batteries. After power washing the boats this spring, we stuck the thing down into the hull, pressed the button, and the little pump sucked out all the water in no time! I was shocked that it worked so well since I'd bought it on a lark while at the local hardware store (also carried some boating supplies). Try one yourself and save your money for more important accessories! |

Here is a link for the urchin pump for a a little cheaper. Maybe you can get a local store to price match. http://www.pyacht.com/whale-gusher-urchin.htm |
