Ordered a new steering lever for my PA12 and have replaced the knob type.
It's brilliant to have identical steering lever on both sides. So much better control.
Best $20 I have spent on the PA yet :D

That was one of the 1st things I did as well and I would have to agree. I added knobs to both as well. The steer-ability (if that's a word) just "feels" so much better and is so much more convenient.

Being able to steer with either hand is one of the few things that I like more about the 2013 than my 2012! Ill be purchasing a new PA14 shortly and will then have both options!!

There's got to be more than just adding another steering lever to have dual controls. I didn't see any steering lines on the right side. having two levers would be nice.

No more than unscrewing the knob and replacing it with a lever! I put on a second lever before my PA ever hit the water. They really should come from the factory that way.

Is the new handle all that's needed. Haven't done anything with the knob on the right side. I assume you just remove it and put the handle in it's place. Sounds like a good idea.

You're right if it's an older model PA's that only has single steering control.
PA 12's and later model 14's have dual steering.

Have my additional handle ordered already for my new PA14.

Is it easy to replace?

If you have a new model with "dual steering capability" it's a piece of cake. Take the knob off the right hand side, put on the steering handle and take off. Just got off the water for the first time after installing the second handle, really like having it available. Makes a big difference to me. Knobs may be next. :?:

What kind of knobs can be installed on the handles?

They make a knob that can be screwed into the end/top of the handle. Just ordered two of them from Austin canoe and kayak.
