I almost forgot, I am about 6ft average build, what setting should the pedals have. I had them set at 5. there was a slap against the bottom every now and then. There was enough ,wind that I did not experiment

If they are hitting the hull move them one notch.

I'm 6'0", too, and I have mine set at 5. I only find that I get the hull slap when I take a very long pedal stroke. If I just shorten up a bit, which is actually more comfortable, I don't get any slap. I figure if the fins are hitting the hull, they are likely extended beyond the range where they are most effective, so it's not really doing me any good to take that longer pedal stroke. I found setting 6 to be a little far forward and more difficult to get my feet set quickly.

Set on 5 works for me most of the time. 6 ft with a 30 inch inseam. Short legs!

I'm 6'3" with 32/34 inseam and I have mine set on 6. I had them on 5 and I got slap also. Give 6 a try....easy enough to change around while out there too.
