I finally went to my Hobie dealer and picked up my new 2013 PA 14! My brother and I strapped the boat to the roof of my truck and drove the 40 min drive back to my apartment building. Now I already new that we would not be able to get it in the elevator to take up to my apartment or down to the basement to store it. So we decided to just try to take it through the stairwell up 6 flights of steps up to my apartment. Well that didn't work because we couldn't turn the corner even though it's a large stairwell. So we figured let's try to take it to the basement which only would be 1 flight of stairs but to our dismay we had the same issue we couldn't turn it around the corner of the stairwell. DAMN STAIRS! BTW this thing is heavy, lol! So I have no choice but to keep it at my brother's in-laws but I am only allowed to keep it there for no more then 10 days then I will have to move it out regardless if I have my hitch and trailer before then. What's even worse I am not allowed to go there to pick it up and take it out. I was told that if I take it from the garage then I won't be able to bring it back. So I'm pretty pissed that I can't use my PA or start to rig up my yak to get it fishing ready till I take it out of there. Regardless I'm happy that I finally purchased my very 1st Kayak and it's a HOBIE, as I have been wanting one of these for years! I will be purchasing my trailer and getting my hitch installed next Friday I can't wait to get everything done so I can start using my Yak. |

Unfortunately I don't have anybody who can store it for me just until I can get my trailer situation sorted out. |

I live in Newark NJ. I was looking to rent a storage unit somewhere but I can't find a storage place that has outdoor access or enough room to store it. I found 1 storage place that has room but they want $275 a month for a unit that is large enough to store the Kayak. If I could find a storage unit where I could keep the Yak and the trailer that I could just back the trailer into, no more than $100 or so a month I would do that for my storage option. |

My brother's wife bought my brother a PA12 a week before I bought mine and has been keeping his at his in-laws as well. Luckily one of my co-workers doesn't drive and has an empty garage, and offered me her garage for a few weeks till I get my storage unit, where I will end up keeping it. My brother and I were supposed to take out our Yaks this Saturday in Raritan Bay to go fishing for fluke, but my brother bailed on our trip. What's funny is that he bailed because his wife doesn't want him to go fishing on Memorial Day Weekend when she was the one who bought him the Kayak before his birthday next month so that we could go fishing this weekend. Can someone say Whipped?! Lol. Anyways I'm still going out on Saturday and can't wait to finally get it on the water. I'll be getting my hitch installed this week and picking up the trailer on Friday so I can trailer it around because loading and unloading the PA on my Durango is a PIA especially by myself. |

what about those places that store caravans or a marina where you are going to use it. What about ringing round those type of places to ask where others store their small boats. |

You can store it at my place next to my PA14......... Oh, I live in Australia, bye the way.  Congrats on your new obsession, once bitten, you'll never be the same again. |
