I picked up my new PA 14 on 7/2 from my dealer. They did a great job of getting it all ready with the anchor trolley even though it was on the wrong side they switched it for me no problem. They even put on my mounts for my Go Pro and flag for me. I had some other mods I wanted to do on my own, I added a Yakattack gear track for a rod holder and anything else. I still have to put on my Lowrance, just don't know where I want it yet.

Anyway took it out for its maiden voyage on Sunday. Took some rods with me to see what works and where to put things on the boat. It was a windy day but I went out anyway. We have been getting a lot of rain here in SWFL so the fishing has not been that great in the harbor so I chanced heading to Gasprillia pass just to see how the PA handled. Saw a few tarpon rolling but no hits. It was great, I even got a Mangrove Snapper to take home with me.

The only issue was since it was a bit choppy I started to get a bit sick when I was calling it quits and had a very long peddle back to the ramp. Even though I am not in the best of shape the 2 mile peddle was not that bad.

I think this will be the start of a very long and wonderful experience for me to enjoy for many years to come.

Great first trip. I've had mine about two months and so far my experience indicates my PA14 will be almost as much fun to fish from as my bay boat and a lot easier for the short trips.

Installing my Lowrance Elite 5 Gold today. Testing it out this afternoon on Lake Anna here in VA.

Keep us posted as things progress.

Sea sickness is my Achilles heel......since my old Navy days, I always carry Benadryl......2, 25 mg tablets will knock it off in 15 minutes.
It does not make me sleepy as some people become....however, it beats the alternative and not so "green" around the gills

Went out today and took a Dramamine and was ok until I leaned over to far and silly me reached back and grabbed the rail and rolled the PA.

Lost my cast net, a Penn rod & reel and broke another rod. All on me I was not being mindful of what I was doing as I had one fish at the boat and the other reel was screaming. At least I had my PFD on. I did have some help by friendly boater to help me roll the PA back over and stay with me as I bailed.

JO.....sorry about the "rolling your PA" episode......another ahh-s**t moment in kayak fishing.
I suppose if it was going to happen, better to get it out of the way sooner rather than later.
I know you will have better days and will enjoy your new ride!

Yeah and it was all my fault. At least the water was warm. :o
