is there anyway to get an exploded diagram of the rudder for the Mirage Pro Angler 12? Used mine for twenty minutes before the rudder fell out, I put it back together but it still steers hard under speed.

So I understand... the rudder pin under the black plate came out and allowed the rudder to drop out of the hull?

Steering hard under speed? So the rudder moves easily when stopped? That would be odd. Maybe you installed the rudder 180? Did you lube the shaft? Maybe the shaft has a burr?

Maybe a steering line is off on of the pulleys in the hull? That would cause friction. Here is the line routing info:

Okay, now I am starting to get mad with Hobie. My dealer was no help with this problem, Hobie is no help. I owned this boat for twenty minutes and the rudder fell off. All I am asking for is a diagram on how the rudder goes back together. Right now I am thinking what a waste of $3000.00. Any body want to buy a Pro Mirage.

Your dealer may be having a difficult time contacting warranty support since we are in the middle of our annual trade show for dealers. We have reduced staffing available at the moment. Our apologies.

Hopefully this will help further:

There is a line running to the hole in the aft of the rudder. This is used to raise the rudder. There is an internal spring that forces the rudder down. If the rudder does not go all the way down... it would angle aft of the rudder pin. This would cause a "heavy" feel and load on the steering.

Likely this line is what kept the rudder with the boat? Perhaps this is twisted around the rudder or hung up internally within the boat. First I would look to see if the rudder does go all the way down when the rudder line is released.

Then we look for possible issues that are preventing it from lowering.

Thanks for the picture, here is a picture of what I have; the plastic housing for the spring seems to be missing. How can I get a replacement for this part?

Not sure where that bolt would have come from unless we changed something.

Thank you very much for your prompt attention. I take back my previous negative post, Hobie has been great with this problem. The bolt in the picture is what I used to reattach the rudder, obviously I had put the rudder together wrong.
