I fish in a lake that is surrounded by cypress trees and has cypress trees in the lake. My 2012 PA14 would normally clean fairly easily after each outing. The 2013 PA14 has been more of a challenge. Not sure if the composition of the hull changed as both are the Dune color, but I'm having a difficult time of removing the yellow sap like material that seems to collect and stain the side/bottom of the hull. I do treat the hull from time-to-time, but am curious if anyone else out there has the same issue and can recommend the best solution from removing the stains without hurting the hull. I can post a few pictures later this evening when I get home. Thanks! |

Have you tried Hobie Boat Cleaner? According to the bottle it will remove mold/ mildew/tar and more. I had some kind of black stains on my PA and washed it and now no more stains. I now wash it all the time with the boat cleaner. |

I will have to check into that avenue. Since I'm hours from the nearest dealer, I would have to order it. I was hoping to figure out a local cleaner solution, but if I can't, I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the input. |

I tried some Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover spray this evening on the yellow stains on the bottom of the hull. The stains came off with ease. I had been using dish soap or Oxiclean to wash the PA after each outing and it always worked well. But the yellow sap stains were starting to accumulate more and more. Looks like I have an initial solution. Will definitely keep the Magic Eraser in mind as well. Thanks for the suggestion from everyone as I do like to keep the PA looking it's best when not in use. |
