Trying to come up with a design to implement. Something what would be 10x6" or so, and mount just forward of the RH rudder control knob and be at the same height as the handle bar. Ideally a sturdy, yet easily removable one, that wont require drillin holes etc.

I find myself using improvised cuttin surface a lot - cutting clam, bunker & other bait etc.

Would this Scotty cutting board fit the bill?

I got a clear cutting board at Wal-Mart that is just about 10" x 6" even has a handle with a hole in the end to attach a leash to it. Cost a whopping $0.97.

I am looking for ideas on how it mount it so she is right where you want it, yet could be moved out of the way easily. When simply put on the deck, it is not very convenient as you have to lean way over. Don't want to have it in your lap either, clam snot is less than pleasant.

I do have rail mounts and did look at those ball mount boards, but they seemed too flimsy to me.

How about something like this?

I have made something in the past with a small plastic cutting board, some t bolts and platic knobs I found at Elliots. It did the job...

OK, made something I like. Will post pics later, the paint aint dry yet. Easy one/off, very stable as it rests on the edge of the hull . Located just where I wanted it - just forward of the RH rudder control.

Might add some adhesive rubber strips to the rides so that she'd hold pieces of cut bait ...

And a pic:

A piece of black micarta attached to some wood with contoured cut outs, matching the dimensions of the side (width & angles). I attached some adhesive rubber strips, so that whatever bait I have in there will stay put.

I carry a small kitchen-type 8x12" cutting board - I can stash it away in the cooler or below the seat when I don't need it.
