With the cooler weather coming on, any input ,on what kind of footwear works best? I have been launching from the beach which results in wet feet. during the warmer weather I use water shoes,

check a couple posts down on the page. I posted this same thing yesterday. i think i called it Pro Angler in the Winter. some good suggestions i plan on implementing

At some point you might as well don a pair of chest waters and wading boots.

I agree with Tom, but I skip the wading boots. Get a pair of inexpensive water shoes sized to fit over the wader socks. Wally World sells 'em for ~$10. A lot less bulky & easier to put on/take off than boots.

I like the stability of wader boots, and they come in handy when I wade.

Yeah, if you intend to get out & wade that's a different story. Maybe I need new boots then 'cause mine are heavy, especially when wet! They also have studs, which obviously don't mix well with boats - ask any guide!

I may be a wimp, but my legs would be destroyed after pedaling more than a few hours with wet boots.

I use SealSkinz Submerge Waterproof Socks to launch and they are great, can peddle all day with them.
