Read much of the forum and seen several posts on steering with the 12. Is this really a problem? I've owned several kayaks and none of them track perfectly straight - I have to paddle left, right, left, etc. to keep in line, especially if there's a cross breeze.
Anywho, just wondering if the tracking complaints are the same for either boat.

Considering the 12 over the 14 simply due to storage - 2 more feet in the garage is two more feet I gotta find room for. However, if there's really a compelling argument to go 14 I'd do it.

There are many compelling arguments. I think the biggest one is that the price difference is so small that it makes the benefits of the 14 outweigh the extra cost.

With the 14 you will get additional stability, some will say a faster boat and of course storage (front hatch is larger). Personally for me, I will do a lot of stand up fishing and while I know the 12 is stable enough to stand up I prefer that extra edge of stability the 14 will provide. I had a choice too, and I went with the 14 and love it. If you get the 14 you'll never wish you had the 12, but if you get the 12 you may end up second guessing yourself.

Justi choose the 14 or 12 because for more stability and room for 100 for was worth it to me I didn't want to regret it later if I got the 12

Melbourne went you get it ill head up I'm in Broward

No boat tracks straight all by itself. Impossible. The 12 works just fine. If you're going to be trailering the boat, I'd get the 14 and enjoy the additional room. If you're going to be manhandling the boat, I'd get the 12 and shave a few pounds.

Thanks for the feedback, all. It'll be a gametime decision - probably when I'm standing there looking at them - but my guess is I'm going with the 12. Fourteen feet just seems like a LOT of boat to me. I mean, I'm sure some of you guys get to take supermodels out on the boat with you and the Bud Light girls need the extra room, but it's just gonna be me out there...

Soon as I pick it up I'm headed for water.

Tight lines,
