went out a few weeks ago and bought myself a 2014 pa12 dune. went with the pa12 because I figured it would be easier to load on a roof rack. but now im kinda kicking myself in the rear for not getting the pa14 after figuring out that a complete roof rack system and having to build a garage stand was about the same price as buying a trailer. im sure I will love my pa12 just kinda second guessing myself right now...anyway im new to kayaking and cant wait to get her all rigged up and on the water..i live in Columbus ohio and plan on taking it to the local lakes but every chance I get I will be heading to lake Cumberland in ky for the striper fishing.. this forum has been a great help to me already and just want to say thanks to everyone for all the info and advise posted on here.

I own and fish out of both a PA12 and PA14. I compare the subtle differences like this: I once had a desire for a sports car, so I test drove a Jag XKJ. It was pretty, sexy, smallish, and handled like a real sports car. Unfortunately, it didn't have any more pep than my sedan, and didn't go any faster, either! Bottom line is you will love it and the minor size difference isn't enough to worry about. Enjoy it.

SH:
I also have a PA12, and I keep my battery in the rear hatch compartment.
See my post in the thread "Battery Install". It's the last post in that thread. I don't think you'll be sorry buying an AGM 10AH battery for the $24 from the company I listed. And the shipping is free.

Just my opinion of course, but that battery works well for me - keeps my Lowrance HD5 running all weekend. Even powers my bait saver when I use live bait.
