I just got my 8' SOP from yakattack with the clips and I'm looking at my yack trying to figure out where to mount them.... Any ideas? |

That's not an easy question to ask as it all depends on what you carry and use on the water and whether the location of where you put the SOP makes is easy or cumbersome to use. You have to take into account which side of the seat you put it on and how that affects your fishing. Some folks do mount the SOP to mounts on the side of the hull, but that might affect the use of an anchor trolley. I have a 6 foot Wang SOP and can post a picture here once I get home of my setup if you want one variation. I can handle an 8 foot SOP with the current setup. I do use the same clips that YakAttack has. Maybe some other folks will post the SOP mounting pictures to this thread to give you some ideas. |

Here are a couple of pictures showing where I have it mounted now. It does not get in the way of the anchor trolley or the front left rod holder. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks guys... I Just brought my new PA14 home Tuesday... I bought a PA12 new last year but sold it to get the 14footer and now I have all this gear that is trickling in and I don't quite know where to put it all... I have never used an SOP before but I like the idea of it and I do a lot of fishing in shallow waters so I though I would get myself a set up. So I guess any and all ideas are good I will wait till after I have used it a few times before I mount it... Just curious what everyone else is doing and why. thanks again for the posts!!! ![]() |
