Here is a quick walk-through of the 14. You'll see my solution for the park-n-pole mounting. Also, if you have input on included rod holders vs. added holders, I'd love to hear it! I want to use the boat's holders so nothing obstructs my back cast, but maybe I'm overthinking that? Tight lines all! See you on the water! http://youtu.be/JLMnjBRGSe0 |

Nice video. I like the keep it simple approach you are using. A while back Bassfriend posted his way of carrying a stakeout pole or a paddle and I am using it and like it. Look for his posting: An easy way to hold the paddle in my ProAngler by Bassfriend. Hobie sells an extender for the rod holders that makes them more secure. They are in the catalog. |

Nice job! A suggestion if i may....instead of the stainless 90's and u-bolts (good job BTW), how about this- Remove the side handle, add a flat stainless strap under each of the handle's mounts, install the clips and reinstall handle. Will have the same end results without the added exposed hardware. Just a thought..... ![]() |

And a very good thought it is! That is the way I originally wanted to do it. Given the thickness of the stock, I worried about the bolts being compromised as well as water getting in around handle between the handle and stock / stock and hull, etc. Plus this is the most non-permanent way to do it to see if I'm happy with the location, etc. If I am, I will probably modify the design to do what I wanted to do from the beginning, which is exactly what you suggested. Great minds thinks alike! Tight lines. |
