Is it possible to put the beach wheels on the heavy duty cart or are they too wide for the axle? I already have the heavy duty cart but could use the beach wheels once in a while. If it's possible, I would much rather just buy the beach wheels and use them interchangeably. I'm pretty sure I'm out of luck but wanted to make sure. Thanks. |

not sure what the heavy duty cart is but I ended up with two Hobie dollies with the thin plastic wheels, kept bogging down in the sand. I took both sets of wheels off, ditched the axles and bought two SS threaded rods same diameter as the original axles. I then mounted BOTH sets of the narrow wheels on one dolly, side by side (now have a 4 wheeler), used SS washers and SS nylon nuts to hold the wheels on. The OTHER dolly, I found two power wheels tires (like the little kids use on their jeeps - note - avoid the pink Barbie) and mounted them on the other SS threaded rod... the hard plastic tires are very wide, travel over sand just find and no issues with them ever going flat. Minimal cost and they both work great on all of my Hobies. |

I interchange my wheeleez wheels and "pnumatic" ones that I purchased at Tractor Supply Company (or harbour freight) all the time. The Wheeleez have a 1" diameter I think and the others are 1/2. In order to get the right spacing and tube diameter between the two- I use PVC pipe. Two years now without any issues. |
