Hi all .
First post on here :D
I am a keen Kayak fisherman from Western Australia who after owning a Hobie Quest 13 and after that a Hobie Revolution 13 have decided to add A 2015 PA12 to the fleet .
Hobie Australia are holding its Bream Grand final only about 100km south from where I live at South Yunderup and as usual the fully fishing rigged Kayaks are being sold off by the Local Hobie dealers at a price too good to pass up .So on the 23rd I get my new ride !

The local Hobie dealer Getaway Outdoors had a Kayak freighted over ahead of the other 54 so it could be displayed at the Perth 4wd and Adventure show last weekend and I found myself invited to spend a couple of days on the stand promoting the local Kayak fishing forum Yakfishwest and kayak fishing as well as the grand final to the public which gave me ample opportunity to snap a few photos .

The Kayaks are fully setup for a catch and release live weigh in format tournament with a Hobie live well ,Lowrance Elite 5 chirp fishfinder ,anchor trolley ,stake out pole ,drift chute ,dual steering handles and big sand wheels .

Hi Brendon! I'm fellow pa 12 (2014) owner from WA (Perth Northern suburbs). The yak looks awesome, I'm very jealous! What are getaway outdoors hitting you up for this rig?

Cool so I am not the only one who did not know what it was for until the weekend :)
When shifting seat from high to low position you pull the toggle and it pulls the the "stand" under the rear part of the seat legs out of the way that allows the seat to lower .When you go from low to high its pulled under the rear of the seat by a bungy .
the answer to your question starts about 3.10 in this video .

Finally got my new ride on the water on the weekend for the first time .
Very pleased with the comfort, space and the new mirage drive .Just need to get my head around the best way to do things Pro-angler style after using a Revolution 13 for the past 3 years .

I have not done much to her so far except add the big rudder and a short length of gear track to one rigging board to take a ram rod holder which I use mostly when re rigging rods .Also put a Yak attack mighty mount on rear hatch to take Visi carbon light pole or camera mount .
I have taken the Lowrance elite 5 Chirp off that came with the kayak off and fitted my Humminbird 798 side imaging unit on using an external bracket for the transducer .Looking forward to getting hold of the H-rail ram balls and plates I have on order to finalise a few things .

First time out on a PA12 and first freshwater fishing trip .Harvey Dam Western Australia .

May I ask why you switched out your Low. for the Hum.?

The side imaging on the humminbird 798 is very important for the snapper fishing we do in Western Australia as it allows us to locate schools over a bigger area and shows exactly where individuals are located so we can cast to them . We typically prowl up and down areas of structure or specific type of bottom until locating fish then drop soft plastics lures or bait onto them .We never stop moving following the schools often at night .Difference to results is major.

If I had the cash I would run a Lowrance HDS touch 7 with structure scan my mates use which is even better again but costs over twice what the humminbird did.

Every fish in this photo was located by side scan/imaging both hummingbird and lowrance

Very nice, I assume the Low. would not do that. Thanks again
