Wow, what happened to it being available in November? I was holding off to buy one, but it is not available until next spring, might as well make my own.

I am a diehard live bait guy who just got a PA 14. I was seriously considering buying the XL but shoot for 400$ I can make a sick livewell. I have been building bait tanks for years. I bought some the hobie livewell parts like the intake tube assembly and backing but for the pump. I already have a tsunami 500gph pump I scalped off another tank. I am planning on using the very bottom of a 55 gal drum. I filled up two 5 gal buckets in the bottom and the depth was about 5-6" max. Piece of starboard for the lid and a 3/4" standpipe. Should work, the drum is wide which may affect stability, we will see. However, the center of gravity is very low with the tank being so shallow and the 23" width will give even large baits plenty of room. I plan on posting lots of pics!

The project was held up by all the other stuff we needed to get for boat production. The new well will be well worth the wait though.

That thing is SO SICK!! If my dealer had one now, I would buy it. get sick of making my own stuff!! I just really am not crazy about the shape of the OG livewell. I love my PA so much, never EVER dreamed I would own when I saw them in showrooms in 09.

Does this livewell have a timer ? I hope so. I need something that will keep the Whites and Crappie alive like the one in my Tracker. I already have a minnow bucket...

No timer... Convenient on/off switch... But long battery life ( self contained) so just leave it on the whole time you're on the water.

When you say the whole time do you mean it has the capacity to run all day? My fishing usually starts at sunrise and doesn't end until 4 or 5 in the afternoon. No home by noon fishing trips for me. If i cant make a day of it then i don't go.
I really don't understand why they couldn't have put a timer on it.
Guess they are leaving common sense in the bag for the $650 XXL Model...

I have the existing live well and It'll run all day on its rechargeable battery, so the Livewell XL should do the same thing.

Sorry, but latest info puts the availability at mid-2015. Still awaiting final details from the production facility and then long lead time after that. More when we know more.
