Anyone know if any changes were made to the cockpit area between 2014 and 2015? Looking to put seadek on a 2015 PA 14 this winter but seadek is only showing kits for 2014.....wanting to see if kits will work on the 2015 models.

thanks

I'm guessing the main floor areas stayed the same, but maybe Matt or someone that has the new 2015 and a 2013-14 can confirm. I did get an e-mail from SeaDek yesterday letting me know that they are almost finished with a template for the Pro Angler 17. I'll bet that took a lot more material! :D

Hi L2F!

I'm wondering if you ever tested this? I finally got my 2015 PA 14 and didn't want to splash her until I got this stuff installed.

As we are scheduled to have -15 degree weather this weekend, the only reason I'm not fishing is because of the SeaDek. At least that's the story I'm going with  .

Just can't wait to spend the winter customizing the new yak, and I didn't want to pull the trigger with SeaDek if someone KNOWS it's not a great fit.

THANKS!

Saint

No I never got any responses other than the one above yours. I know that in the rear tank well area, the 2015 now has a small scupper hole in the middle where the 2014 did not. I believe everything else is the same. However, I'm not going to order the seadek kit for the 2015 until someone at seadek or Hobie can clarify the floor dimensions. Also, I've noticed that on seadek's website, they show several pictures where the front deck is different....some with 1 solid piece and some with multiple pieces in the picture. My question is if you use one solid piece, what do you do for the recessed areas where the factory padding is already there? If you pull that out, then the new seadek is not going to be thick enough to accommodate the deeper area for a solid piece. If you leave that in then the new seadek will not stick to the factory padding. I do like the 1 piece but need some input from someone as to what they did in those two footwell areas.

Thanks

I cannot confirm for sure that the floor dimension are the same but they appear to be. Below are pics of my install and I do not believe the new rear scupper will be an issue as appears to be in void in the padding anyway. If anyone wants to send me a PM with their email I will be glad to email the PDF of the CAD drawing they did for mine and you can see the various dimensions.

As for the factory foot pads I left them in and I am pretty sure SRAces left his in as well. Mine has been installed 10 months and I have had no issues and love it. There is enough area around the foot pads where the adhesive holds it fine.

That's a good looking kit. I have a gray kit on my Jackson and plan on putting SeaDek on my 2015 PA12. Thanks for the pics

Any idea what one of these SeaDek kits weighs? Thanks

I put a kit on my Jackson Big Tuna, very lightweight. I would say under a pound.

Believe it or not, its very lightweight rubber, around 5mm thick. They use a closed cell EVA material that is flexible and soft on the feet.

It weighs a few pounds...not under a pound. If I remember correctly, the shipping weight of the entire kit in a cardboard wrapping was around 7 pounds. So the padding itself should be well under 5 pounds...maybe less. There are cutouts that you do not use in that weight as well.

Sorry, I should have specified, the kit I installed on my Big Tuna, has far less material than what a PA requires. I've emailed SeaDek to inquire about 2015 availability for PAs.

SeaDek quoted me $335 for the camel color for my 2015 PA 12.....I'll wait.

That is a really nice looking kit. It is making me re-think my planned purchase of a papaya colored PA14. I don't see many color combos that appeal to me with yellow color but your combo looks sweet.

Well done!
