Matt, any chance the front trolling motor mount for the Mirage 17 will fit a 2014 Pro Angler 14?

I believe it can be adapted to fit. The 17 has molded-in inserts for mounting points. The PA 14 would have to be drilled for bolts and nuts. I will know more once they become available...

I was wondering the same thing. Already have the trolling motor with i-Pilot but have never mounted it to my 2014 PA14. Then I saw the PA 17 motor mount and am crossing my fingers that it will work.

Backtracking a bit. Engineers have a few reasons why they would not recommend it. The shape is designed for the PA17 and would not "match" the shape of a PA12 or 14. There are concerns about weight and balance of the two smaller PAs. Sooo... untested and not factory approved.

The shape looks pretty much the same unless the angles are slightly different. I could see the length maybe being an issue. Are the concerns with weight related to the mount, the motor or the combination of the two making it starboard heavy? With my 6'6" 250 lbs frame, I doubt it wouldn't matter much.

Thanks for the feedback, Matt. It would be sweet to have the trolling motor up front like on a bass boat and still be able to use the mirage drive. The combination would open up opportunities. Like a foot pedal control when standing. Can't help but think that a large battery on the stern would make for a good counter balance measure. I understand the untested factory approved stand.

Hey guys I'm late to the thread here but for what it's worth, I was able to adapt the PA 17 motor mount to the bow of my PA 14. It's not a perfect fit but with a little creativity in what hardware you use it installs pretty easily. Not sure when I will get to try it out. If anyone is interested I can add pics.

Pictures will be appreciated. And please share us your findings after your testing.
