I have 2 plug in carts where the welds have broken away from the cross bar to the vertical posts. The best Hobie would offer was a 50% reduction on a new one. I figure that is throwing good money after bad. Does anybody have any ideas on fixing the joints, the stainless tube is very thin and any fix that weakens the vertical post would not end well.posting.php?mode=post&f=78&sid=9a084ff03f54a5bd11e09a09b3c028ed# Sea to Summit make a plug in cart that is very robust just checked on line for $A99.95 so will probably get one if repairs are not successful. |

I had the same problem. THis is a known problem with Hobie's older carts. They were made with just a tac weld which does not hold up to PA's weight. The new ones are fully welded. My dealer had a bunch of broken ones that were sent out and rewelded with a full weld that they exchanged for my broken 1 for free. This happened last year. You might want to check with some of the dealers to see if they would do the same thing. |
