Just added the rubber net pockets and the H-rail rod holders to my new 2014 Pro Angler 14. The net pockets are pretty sweet! Easy install and will hopefully keep the aggravation of hung hooks from happening anymore. I saw where someone used a white paint pen to highlight the Hobie "H" in the rubber netting and it looked pretty sweet! Is it functional? No, but it added a little flair that almost seems like it should have been done at the factory. The H-Rail rod holders worked even on the round hand rail of the 2014. I really think Hobie should have left the molded in "stairs" to hold the rod butts like they had on my 2010 model PA14. It was the perfect system in my opinion. Not sure how I really feel about these rod holders as they are so close together that my rods interfere with one another. Basically it causes some rods to rest on other reels. The staggering of the molded in "stairs" was a much better design as it kept the rod and reels from being in the same verticle plane and kept the rods and reels from contacting each other. Overall I'm pleased with the set up and it beats having my reels in a pile beside the seat bouncing against each other.

Now the only thing left to figure out is how to keep my Vantage seat mesh from squeeking with every pedal stroke!! It's terribly annoying but I haven't really put in any time to figure out how to stop it yet.

Little silicone spray. Usually between mesh and aluminum when newer.

Yep, Thanks Matt. The noise was coming from where the mesh wrapped around the aluminum rail down on the seat part. I'll have to stop and pick up some spray for now but figured it would stop on its own once it gets good and broken in. I've only been on the water three days with it so far so I'm still trying to figure out all the new features and items compared to my 2010. It's pretty neat having the two hulls side by side so that I can see the evolution of the model. If things go as planned I'll be adding another Hobie next spring!

My first fish in the 2014 Pro Angler 14. I found this hull as a leftover at a dealer here in California for 25% off!!! I was originally looking for a 2015 but couldn't pass up the price on this one!

My 12 year old is loving the fact that he has his own boat to fish out of now and couldn't believe that I let him have my 2010 Pro Angler 14!

I love my old school PA14 with the sofa seat! It's very easy to get in and out of compared with the new seat.

12 years old and his own boat? Very nice.
He sure as heck can't replace it.
My guess is that he cleans and babies it like it was the holy grail. :)
