I have a PA 17t and i am having trouble steering to the right when I'm in the back of the boat. The middle and front rudders controls are fine...any solutions? the handle will only turn about 3/4 to the right but i have full movement to the left. |

Sounds like you need to center the steering lines. Loosen the screws holding the line on each side of the steering drum. Center the rudder and center the steering toggle. Now pull the lines taut (care not to upset the centering of the rudder and toggle) and tighten the set screws. At this point a full throw of the toggle to either side should result in the rudder moving by the same amount left or right. |

Sounds to me like a steering limiter issue. I have the same problem with my TI. Forward rudder control has full throw port and starboard, aft rudder control has full port, but only about 3/4 starboard. It hasn't been an issue yet, but I do need to get the boat into the dealer so they can either remove the limiter or adjust it. |
