So I went fishing with a buddy this weekend and he had an Outback. His outback comes equipped with rod (molded into the yak) holders in front of his chair to quickly drop his rod in. The Pro Angler does not have this. Is there a work around for this? Pics anybody. Thanks

Here's how I did my rod holders on my 2013 PA14 utilizing the RAM Junior tubes. I will mount them further back on my 2015 PA14 I am picking up this Saturday utilizing the new H-rail system. You can find the RAM Junior tubes with various bases for about $20 - $25 each online.

The workaround, in my opinion, is to add your own rod holders. The pro angler has the big mounting plates in front that allow you to customize it exactly to your liking. I prefer the Yak attack ram mount rod holders: http://www.yakattack.us/ZT_004_p/zt-004.htm

I had an Outback before my PA and I didn't find the built in rod holders in front of the seats very useful given that they were in a fixed position and you can't change the angles.

There were two "built in" features of the Outback that I do miss though, the cup holders and the paddle strap.

Thats funny, I have that Zooka Tube already. I remove all of my hardware when not in use, I was hoping for something to add cheap for a quick drop of the rod and not have to woory if it gets stolen if I leave it on the yak.

Unless it was molded in (which it isn't on a PA), your only option is to add rod holders for the area from the seat forward. I like the Zooka Tubes and have ordered them again for my 2015 PA that I am picking up tomorrow. I did notice that these tubes do not have left side/right side arrangement and are only made one way for a spinning rod. So if you look closely, you will see that I cut out an additional slot on the opposite side.

This allows me to mount the tubes on either side (either tube inside the post facing forward or outside the post symetrically). I really like these tubes as they allow you to lock the spinning rods in by simply rotating the rod and dropping the reel shaft in the slot. They work great for trolling! :D

I understand your concern of being stolen. If I go somewhere where it's not secure, I remove everything and put it in the truck.
