I can't speak for the PA12, but on my 2015 PA17 I use the H-Rail Horizontal Rod Racks in combination with the tubes in the boat.

I just received my replacement hull from Hobie (2015 PA-12). A big thanks to Hobie for their great customer service and prompt response to my warranty issue. Hobie you rock While preparing it to go fishing I noticed the there was no bungee in the H-rail to secure the rods when stowing in the bow rod storage Did Hobie eliminate these bungees on the 2015 PA models. If so what are some of you doing to secure your rods while they are in the bow rod storage. |

Yes, they did away with the bungee in the rail for securing rods. They had 3 bungees in the 2012 and older PAs. I noticed on the 2015 models that they left the 2 black knobs where the bungees used to attach to. No biggie. The H-Rail Rod holders that PDB posted are a lot more flexible. You can use them to hold several items (rods, SOP, paddle, etc.). It just depends on what you carry where you mount the new rod holders. I bought 2 for my 2013 PA14 since they will mount on the older round rails with no problems at all. Congrats on the upgrade. You will like the H-Rail mounting a lot better. very easy to mount only the items you want for a particular trip and place them on the rail for the conditions or type of fishing you do. |
