Has any one had this issue one of mine broke where it runs through the hull and hooks to the steering drum I have already had it repaired at a hobie dealer and now the steering knobs point to the left and right a good bit when you use the boa knob to take the slack out of the cables the rudder will be pointing stright and when you turn left or right one control knob will be pointing stright how can i fix this the dealer told me thats the way they work thats bs |

It sounds like your dealer did not set up the rudder lines where the BOA was fully released or no tension applied......It should be reasonably easy to readjust the rudder lines when both rudder handles are in the "centered position"....I retrofitted my 2013 PA-14 with the BOA feature last October 2014 and I made no changes to the rudder line lengths at the rudder steering drum.....the installation worked as expected and still does today. Maybe Matt Miller can add to my reply?? |

Pull the rudder up... that centers it. Loosen the BOA and then place light tension on it again. Not tight. Open the access plate over the drum. Loosen the steering lines. Place the steering handle in the middle of it's swing (left to right). This may not be pointing straight forward, usually a bit top the right. Tension the steering lines to hold the steering handle in position (While rudder is held centered). |

Thanks for the help i got it working now its bad the dealer couldn't fix it |
