I'm so excited. My husband just got me a Hobie Pro Angler 14 for Christmas. I haven't got it out on the water yet. He has a Wilderness Ride 135 We are trying to figure out how to transport both in the truck safely. We had the Colorado xt pontoon boats which were fun but as much as we both love fishing we decided we needed something better suited for serious fishing. We had a lot of fun on the pontoons and were kind of sad to sell them. We've been saving up for our kayaks and finally got them. I haven't been on the water for months and can not wait to get my new boat out on the water. I was happy to find this forum and am hoping to learn a lot from experienced pro angler owners. I've been fishing since I was a kid but kayaking is new to me. |

Congratulations Jocat. I bought my Proangler 14 18 months ago never having seen one in person. Heck I hadn't ever even been in a kayak. At 6'6" and 250lbs, I never thought that someone like me would even fit into or I guess onto a kayak. i had also rolled a few canoes in my days as a gangly kid. i must have watched a hundred videos before I finally said what the heck and ordered one from Austin Kayak and had it delivered a week later. My first trip out I spent 6 hours on the darned thing. I couldn't believe how easy it was and best of all how much fun it was. After at least 100 trips on the water now, I'm wondering why did I ever wait so long. Best investment I have ever made. |

I totally understand Bilznut. I've been without a boat for about six months now. Sold the canoe and inflatable pontoons to start saving. My husband got his yak (wilderness ride) a couple months ago and felt a little guilty each time he went fishing and left me behind to grade papers. Lol. I finally got it a couple days ago. Still haven't got it in the water yet. Papaya sounds beautiful. Post some pics when you get it. Kansas yakker, just what I wanted to hear. I've never been on a kayak either but watched a million videos of everyone being in love either PA s and fell in love with it. Looking forward to the mirage drive. Developed bersitis in my left shoulder making it hard to paddle canoe, besides me and hubby are madly in love but prefer freedom to choose where to fish while still enjoying each other's company. Pontoons with trolling motors gave us that but still a little slow and limited. I think the PA is going to be exactly what I need from here on out. Planning on hitting the water this weekend. |

Congrats on the new PA14! Before I had gotten mine I hadn't spent a lot of time in a yak other then when I was a kid. I am 6'1" and 300lbs. Stability was the key for me. I have had Knee injuries in the past growing up playing hockey and the Mirage drive makes it so easy to move whether in the current of a river or in the wind. You will definitely enjoy it. The great part is if you only have a couple hours to fish you can just drop them in the water and go and get out dry. |

Murrica. I'm so excited. Was wondering about the river with the shallows, rip tides and mirage drive. We love doing the fish and camp on the river. Good to hear it does well. Sorry about your knees. Hockey is my favorite sport. Just banged mine up bring a tom girl doing my own stunt work and crashing and running over myself with my own motorcycle. Lol. Gave that up but now have a cool new ride in the PA ![]() |

The best thing do do in the shallows is to feather and essentially just short paddle and you can get around fairly shallow. the cool thing about river fishing with the PA is you can hold your spot on the river without an anchor by just slowly peddling. |

congrats on your pa i am also picking up my pa 14 on saturday. I was curious my rails on my rack were set for my hobie quest and i wanted to know if the spacing between the piping is the same or if the spacing for the pa is different does anybody have measurements ? I would greatly appreciate them so i could make appropriate adjustments. |

Congratulations Jocat! Your husband is a good and smart man. He chose wisely....although, with a Wilderness Ride 135 he is going to be wishing he had gotten a Hobie as well before long. I am sure you will have a great time out there in the water. My wife and I sometimes share the ride.....specially when it is windy outside. Check out this video from a couple of days ago. https://youtu.be/pz962FmlGMw Enjoy the ride. |

He may not be in the habit of borrowing your stuff, but that is about to change. Huge congrats ! You now have what most ( myself included ) perceive to be the best, most practical fishing boat in the world. There is a facebook page for Hobie Pro Angler owners also that is pretty active. There are several fishing forums that have great kayak fishing sub groups. It may not be near you geographicaly, but http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubb ... ak_Fishing has a lot of good info. Kudos to your hubby. Phill |

Great Video of you and your wife angler. I got my husband a go pro for Christmas. What was that pole that you kept adjusting with the camera on it? He is looking for some great ways to mount his camera. I love my kayak!!!!!! He loves it too but prefers his. |
