Wow. Pretty psyched. But lots of questions: 1) anyone haul in p/u truck bed with bed extender? I have a trailer, but it has another boat (v-hull 14' alum) on it ... 2) what's the easiest way to go with fish finder? I'm pretty confused on diff lowrance models. Catalog shows an Elite 4 Chirp at 299$ ... Is that really plug and play? Or do we need to make special modifications? Can't wait for ice out on the lakes! |

I can't comment on any fish finder. But, how long is the bed on your truck? I have an f250 with 8' box and tool box. My PA 14 doesn't even hardly make contact with bed extender. I could probably put the 17 in there. I have the t-bone loader. You just have to build a rack for it, you don't want to be picking up that beast. |

Cool ... Thanks. I went down to the store and manhandle the beast ... No way! I'm going to put it on my trailer (I have a nice Shorelander that my 14' Vhull sits on). I must be getting soft as I get older, but that 200+# seemed like 500+. Back in the day I used to think nothing of throwing a 12' Jon boat in the back of the pu (standard 6'4" bed in Dodge Ram), but now .... Yikes. Hanks again for input. Cheers. Frank. |
