Just about to pick up my brand new 14 pa and will be mounting my ultralight to the rear. Ive been catching some great stripers in the sound in very shallow water so decided to try with a yak rather than worrying about my boat in the dark. I've read through all the other great posts, but a couple of the photos don't seem to be available anymore so I have a couple of quick questions: 1. From reading one of the posts I think it suggests drilling additional holes in the steering drum rather than using the existing holes, am I mistaken? 2. Did you all use rubber grommets in the holes you made in the steering drum cover to stop the lines wearing? Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No need to drill new holes. Use the existing ones...no rubber grommets. ..sorry about the pics....this website and its pitiful software has a mind of its own...one day it works, next day it doesn't. ...one day it works, next day it wont show the pics it showed the day before....junk.... |

Btw...if you do the cutouts in the cover rather than holes you will have much better steering and tracking...good luck....I edited in new pics in the Torqeedo thread... |

Splat Where are you located? I fish the Long Island Sound with my PA 14, not sure if that is the sound you are talking about. |

Thanks very much that's great. Mike, I live in New Canaan but fish from saybrook eastwards. Kept my boat in mystic last year. Would love to meet up if you're up for it, I don't know anyone else with a yak. I used to kayak white water so thought I'd give it a go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Mike, yeh would love to meet up when they start running. Do you not find that the fish have gone fairly quickly? I used to fish round Norwalk and a bit west but have found much larger fish that remain all season long in the eastern sound. The drive is a pain though.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
